Unemployed people are closing roads in Sidi Bouzid to demand humanitarian aid
Degree holders at Regueb and Menzel Bouzaiane are cutting roads and organizing a protest march to demand the activation of law number 18 for emergency operation.

Dismissals from graduates carried out protest movements including those of Regueb and Menzel Bouzaiane in Sidi Bouzid Province. Protesters in Menzel Bouzaiane closed road lanes and lit rubber tires, coinciding with organizing a march that swept the main streets of Regueb during a weekly market to denounce the disruption of manoeuvring tracks after years of unemployment.
Participants in the movements raised banners demanding that the government expedite the issuance of organizational and enforcement orders necessary to activate Law No. 18 for 2025. Protesters also demanded the launch of an online platform to record files and monitor financial credits for first-rate sponsorship, confirming their refusal to continue what they described as a postponement policy and promises after long waiting periods in the ranks of higher education graduates. These moves come along a field course that included organizing a march that started on September 27, 2026 from Menzel Bouzaiane towards the capital and cut more than 300 kilometers without achieving practical results. The legislative framework saw the promulgation of Law No. 18 in the Official Major on 22 December 2025 for the adoption of exceptional provisions for volunteers with ten or more years' experience in the public sector and public service, after the application of Law No 38 of 2020 dated 13 August 2020 failed.
The Unemployed Coordinators announced their intention to continue the protest forms and coordinate unified territorial and national movements during the coming period, until the actual start of the direct mandate path and the termination of the unemployment file of senior martyrs in the body.
