Regueb disruptors are calling for a periodic pause to activate the Civil Service Mandatory Act

Coordination of their long-standing championship with the Regueb local delegation in Sidi Bouzid State on Friday 30 October 2026 called for a periodic protest stop outside the headquarters of the local delegation.

The Coordination Committee called on the government to immediately and effectively implement the provisions of Law No. 38, as well as to speed up the issuance of order orders and download the dedicated digital platform to follow the proceedings of this file. The protesters stressed the need to honour pledges to end unemployment of those concerned and integrate them into administrative work without further delay.

The protesters in their statement affirmed their position that they are being held accountable for the first batch of unemployed people covered by this route before the end of 2026. The protesters felt that activating the direct mandate was a key merit after years of waiting and pending promises that did not lead to administrative execution.

This move is based on Law No. 38 dated 13 August 2020, which Parliament had passed on 29 July 2020 by a majority of 159 votes. This legal framework recognises exceptional judgments directing the public sector to pay consecutive annual salaries to senior martyrs whose full tenure has exceeded 10 years, following repeated moves and protests in Sidi Bouzid state and the capital since late 2020.

The Coordination intends to continue the implementation of the periodic standby program at the headquarters of the local delegation and to continue the ongoing field pressure on the local and central authorities to push them towards activating practical procedures for manoeuvring and complying with their legal commitments.
