The Tunisian Primary Court sentences him to 11 years in prison for drug trafficking
The Criminal Chamber sentenced him to prison for smuggling large quantities of drugs through the port of La Goulette and fined him 50,000 dinars.

The Criminal Chamber of the Tunisian Primary Court issued an 11-year prison sentence on Thursday, November 5, 2026 against a defendant convicted of smuggling large quantities of drugs into the country. The same court ruled that financial offenses worth 50,000 dinars were to be paid to the accused after the charges against him were proved.
The incident is the result of a joint operation carried out by security and judicial units at the port of La Goulette, where the competent teams suspected a suitcase belonging to one of the travelers coming from abroad. The surveillance and close inspection at the border checkpoint resulted in the detection of a shipment of drugs hidden inside his luggage.
Investigations by security authorities have shown that the culprits brought the booked shipment from a European country with the intention of promoting it inside Tunisia. The defendant admitted to his actions during the searches and initial investigation that he underwent after being arrested for possession of prohibited substances.
The case file was referred to the judiciary after various stages of investigation and technical investigations were completed, so that the Criminal Chamber of the Tunisian Primary Court could consider the charges related to the matter. The judiciary has issued its final sentence of imprisonment and financial misconduct following legal review in a drug trafficking file through border ports.
