Sfax expects to produce 275,000 tons of olives for the 2026-2027 season
Official forecasts indicate that the olive grove in Sfax State will reach about 275,000 tonnes as 110 contemporaries open their doors to harvest.

The current campaign is witnessing 110 contemporaries open their doors for harvest reception and conversion, out of 367 farms in various regions of the province. Olive cultivation is a major economic and agricultural pillar of the region, contributing to the creation of many citizens' jobs and supporting local development and the export sector.
Interveners in the agricultural sector have called for concerted efforts to ensure the success of the season, demanding adequate conditions for crop production, conversion and storage, and ensuring that applicable quality and safety standards are respected. Through these measures, professionals aim to strengthen Sfax State's position as a national producer of olive oil and its price.
These estimates are based on Sfax's prominent position in the national system, with about 33.8 million olive trees representing nearly a third of the country's remaining trees. The province alone occupies about 18% of the country's vineyard area, while olive trees cover about 75% of the total cultivated land within the province.
