Protesters Burn Factory in Bouzouf After Man’s Death

The city of Bouzouf in Nabeul Governorate witnessed a surge in public anger and the burning of a fly larvae breeding factory following the fatal accident of a man hit by a truck near the facility. Protesters broke into the industrial site and set it on fire after the death of a man named Hussein Dridi, who died from his injuries after being hit by a truck in front of the facility.

The actions came as a continuation of previous demands by the local community to close the factory due to its proximity to residential areas and vital facilities. The public prosecutor of Nabeul inspected the body and ordered its transfer to the forensic doctor, while opening an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident and determine responsibilities.
