The budget of the presidency of the Republic rises to 248 million dinars by 2027

The Presidency of the Republic presented on Monday 2 November 2026 the draft budget of the Presidency Foundation for 2027 to the Committee on Foreign Relations and Investment of Parliament and the National Council of Governments and Regions. The appropriations allocated to the presidency amounted to about 248 million 576 thousand dinars, an increase of 8.22% compared with the appropriations in 2026 of 229 million 705 thousand dinars.

Rental expenses account for the largest share of this budget of about 179 million dinars and 72.25% of the total appropriations received, compared to 168 million dinars for the same purpose in the 2026 budget. The remainder of the proposed loans will be allocated between DKK 36 million and DKK 660,000 for travel expenses, and about DKK 20.500,000 for intervention expenses, along with monitoring investment expenses of DKK 12.11 million.

The data presented relate to the application of planned wage increases, promotions and programmed manoeuvres for the interests of the Presidency. These expenditures constitute the main component of the general budget allocated to the administration of presidential work and executive interests. These estimates are an extension of the upward trajectory that began in 2019 when the presidency's budget reached 123 million and 989,000 dinars, registering a total increase of 100.5% between 2019 and 2027. These estimates fall within the constitutional and legal framework for drafting the Finance Bill and State Budget presented annually to both Houses of Parliament.

The next step is to complete the hearings and discussions within the Joint Committees, in preparation for the presentation of the project at the General Session of Parliament and the National Council of Authorities and Territories for approval before the end of the year.
