Representative of the Presidency of the Republic Murad al-Alumi, in a joint parliamentary hearing held at the Assembly of the Representatives of the People's Headquarters in Tunis, revealed the allocation of proposed appropriations for the presidency's mission under the draft state budget for 2027 worth 248.576 million dinars. These estimates record an increase of 18.871 million dinars compared to the 2026 budget of 229.705 million dinars, a growth of 8.22%.

Rental spending accounts for the largest share of the proposed budget of about 179 million dinars, representing 72.25% of the total, compared to about 168 million dinars identified for the same area in the 2026 budget. The remaining loans are allocated between 36.66 million dinars for transportation expenses, 20.5 million dinar for interventions expenses, plus 12.011 million dinars of investment expenses.

The hearing came during a joint meeting of Parliament's Committee on Foreign Relations and International Cooperation and the National Council of Governments and Regions' Investment and International Co-operation Committee to discuss the financial direction of the mission.

This estimate reflects the continued upward trend of the Republic's presidential appropriations over the past few years, with its appropriations not exceeding 83.1 million dinars in 2014, before reaching 123.989 million dinar in the 2019 budget, to its current levels proposed in the new Finance Bill.

The two Parliaments are expected to submit their joint report to the General Meeting of the two Houses of Parliament for a vote and final approval on the draft in accordance with the mechanisms established by the Basic Budget Law before the end of next December.
