The Peasants' Union refuses to raise the price of cannon in wholesale markets

The Tunisian Farmers' Union in Bizerte, on Friday 6 November 2026, expressly rejected the decision to cap the sale price of cannery products by 12 dinars for a decoration consisting of 12 grains within wholesale markets in various regions.
A member of the local farmers' union, Bizerte and Walid Hababou, confirmed that the registered roofing decision included the white Canarian strain specifically without other strains.
It is estimated that tuna production in Tunisia is structurally divided into three main varieties known to professionals, namely white tuna, red tuna and cat's head.
A member of the trade union reported that this pricing target is usually directed towards export activity, specifically towards Italian markets, which absorb significant quantities. The farmers' representative warned that interfering with domestic price fixing would directly affect export prices abroad, damaging farmers' incomes and threatening their continued agricultural activity.
