Eli Trabelsy, brother of former Tunisian tourism minister Ronny Trabelsy, criticized the campaigns and waves directed against the island of Gerba and the Graïba Jewish Temple, addressing the controversial land sale to foreigners and promoting settlement attempts, and warning of the dangerous repercussions of hate speech and incitement against Tunisian Jewish citizens.

In a post on his social media account, Trabelsis recalled the burning of the Jewish temple in the Almaty district of Gabès state, and the damage suffered to the position of the good ally, Sidi al-Arabi, considering that the silence and lack of an official position by the public prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs constitutes a clear shortcoming in protecting the historical and religious heritage of the kingdom.

Thappulsi described the destruction of these monuments as a terrorist act, stressing that those attacking Jeraba and the Graïba temple are seeking to re-establish tension and stir the streets through media and digital platforms.

He also emphasized the historical roots of the Jews in Jeraba, asserting that they are an original part of the national fabric and have lived on the island for centuries, and that the Graïba temple remains a civic and religious symbol of the Tunisian kingdom. He warned that continued escalation could push Tunisian Jews toward immigration again, as had happened in previous decades (the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s).
