Sir Amir's school in Siliana wins the Arabic Reading Challenge Award
The primary school earns a grand prize of 1 million UAE dirhams at the end of its 10th session in Dubai after being the top Arab in prospective projects.

The Siliana Sud Local Delegation's Sidi Amir Primary School was crowned as the outstanding school at Arab level during the closing ceremony of the tenth edition of the Arabic Reading Challenge contest held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Thursday 29 October 2026. The Tunisian educational foundation received the award in recognition of its programs in promoting education and outreach.
The Rural School, founded in September 1980 and comprising 100 pupils and 11 educational frameworks, won the top prize of 1 million UAE dirhams. This coronation came after the institution was able to register all of its students on the official platform and read and summarize the books required for the contest.
The school was ranked first nationally in Tunisia during the final qualifiers announced by the Ministry of Education on 24 July 2026, enabling it to represent the country in Arab competitions. The race is part of the Arab Reading Challenge Initiative launched in 2015 and is run by an educational partnership between the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation and education ministries in Arab countries.
The next step for the management of the educational institution, in coordination with the Ministry of Education and the Regional Delegation for Education in Siliana, is to direct the value of the financial bonus to the development of the school's infrastructure and to equip its educational and office facilities with the aim of supporting reading activities for the coming school years.
