Espérance and CS Sfaxien have a negative equation in Sfax
The two teams were just one point short of a goalless draw at the Al-Tib Mahiri Stadium in the final lap of the 6th round of the first professional league.
The draw was decided without goals for the classic match between sports club CS Sfaxien and its host Espérance Sportive de Tunis, on Thursday 29 October 2026, on the ground of the Alte Mairie Stadium in Sfax. The match was contested as part of the final draw for the 6th round of the First Professional Football League competition organised by the National Professional Football Association under the auspices of the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF).
This result raised the balance of Espérance Sportive de Tunis to 13 points, placing it second in the overall standings, while CS Sfaxien's balance froze at nine points to remain in ninth place. The sports federation continued to build two single monkeys leading the competition after raising its balance to 17 points, four points ahead of its closest pursuit in the race.
This summit had earlier been postponed as a result of the clubs' continental commitments in two African club competitions, forcing its re-schedule within the final leg of the tour. Each side of the two teams has an additional game deferred in their balance to finish the round-robin and adjust their position in the points standings.
The next step for both clubs is to complete the remainder of the current sporting season, in accordance with the programme, schedules and official appointments issued by the sporting body overseeing the tournament.
