The Tunisian High Court has sentenced a child murderer to death in El Omrane Supérieur
The Criminal Chamber issued a death sentence by hanging for the potential accused, Ruby, after he was convicted of dragging and strangling a six-year-old girl in the spring of 2025.

The Criminal Chamber of the Tunisian Primary Court sentenced, on Saturday 31 October 2026, to death by hanging in the right of the accused known as Ruby, after he was convicted of deliberately murdering a six-year-old girl in the El Omrane supérieur district of the capital Tunis.
The details of the crime date back to the spring of 2025, when the victim was reported missing after she went out to play near her family's residence. Inspections and field security investigations at the time resulted in the child's body being found hidden and wrapped in a cloth over the roof of a house next to the defendant's apartment.
Investigations and confessions showed the perpetrator had dragged the child into his home, exploiting him as a neighbor to her family, before offering to strangle her with a sock until she died, and then deliberately moving her body to hide it from view. The suspect was later arrested by security forces after he tried to flee nearby Ettadhamen.
The judiciary has designated the offence under criminal law as a premeditated murder, in accordance with the Criminal Code, to determine the maximum legal physical penalties for convicts.
This is a criminal judgment issued by the Court of First Instance, where the next legal step is to refer the case file to the Court of Appeal for consideration and review in accordance with the applicable criminal proceedings.
