The Prosecutor General of the Tunisian Primary Court on 1 November 2026 issued a prison sentence for the writ of a lawyer on suspicion of involvement in espionage and defamation. Prosecutors have decided to continue prosecuting the suspect and removing him from custody on the basis of the case.

The security investigations had been launched after an official complaint was filed by a woman who reported being misled by a suspect who claimed to be a straight lawyer. The suspect receives a sum of money from the complainant's claim for her commitment to a legal dispute brought before the court and direct legal proceedings for her benefit in exchange for services that later turn out to be counterfeit.

The person concerned forfeits his legal obligations and promises to the complainant only to find out later that he is a lawyer's clerk and does not hold the title of a licensed lawyer and is not entitled to practise. The Central Crime Task Force has pledged to the National Guard, Ben Arous, to search the scene based on instructions from the prosecutor's office.

Investigators have begun to hear the statements of the parties to the case, reasoning with the suspect and documenting his statement on the charges against him in an official minutes. In the first stage, it is decided to retain the meaning of the security inquiry on the basis of the provisions of the Journal of Criminal Procedure and the Journal of Penal Crimes in respect of misdemeanors before referring the entire file to the court.

The file of the case with the suspect is forwarded to the Public Prosecutor's Office, which has issued its decision to deposit him in prison, in preparation for his subsequent referral to the competent judicial district for trial for his actions.
