The General Union of Tunisian Students announced a general strike in all higher education institutions in Sfax on Friday. The decision comes in the wake of the death of student Rym Al-Tahri, who was staying at the Sid El Mansour dormitory and suffered a sudden health crisis.
Students are protesting the delay in the arrival of an ambulance and the absence of well-equipped emergency units inside the dormitories. The student union's statement calls on the Ministries of Higher Education and Health to accelerate the establishment of medical points equipped with human and necessary resources.
