Military Court Sentences Alafa Hammadi to 4 Years in Prison and Fines Her

A military court in Tunisia has sentenced Alafa Hammadi, the leader of the Third Republic Party, to four years in prison and a fine of 80,000 dinars. The sentence is divided into two years for each of the two separate cases.

The sentence was handed down for alleged conspiracy against state security and incitement of military personnel to disobedience, based on Facebook posts.

The defense council confirmed that the sentence is appealable, while the U.S. State Department is closely monitoring the case due to Hammadi's American citizenship.
