Residents of Gabès Protest Against Gas Emissions from Chemical Complex

Residents of Gabès and activists of the Stop Pollution campaign renewed their complaints after heavy gas emissions were recorded from the chemical complex in the area. They expressed their dissatisfaction with the increasing pungent smells and their direct health and marine environment risks.

These recurring emissions occur despite previous official pledges not to operate polluting industrial units without adhering to environmental standards. The civil society calls for a clear timeline for dismantling the units and finding long-term solutions to the chronic pollution crisis.
