On prices and purchasing power, Minister of Commerce and Export Development Samir Abed held a meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry with representatives of major commercial areas.

The meeting discussed the approval of price reductions in a number of basic consumer goods and materials over the next few days.

The ministry said in a statement that the move was aimed at easing the livelihood burden on citizens and ensuring a consistent supply of vital materials to the market. Consumers expect the list of goods to be announced as inflationary pressures continue and households'purchasing power declines.
