The guards are booking 190 million dinars worth of smuggled goods

The Divani Guard units at various border crossings and land routes in Tunisia have raised more than 11,000 smuggling cases during the first nine months of this year. The total financial value of the booked goods exceeded 190 million dinars, without taking into account the value of the means of transport used and without taking into consideration the photo bookings.

Reservations were distributed on various consumer goods and materials, including more than 13 kilograms of gold, and more than 459 tons of various foods and supplies.

A spokesman for the General Administration of Customs explained that these interventions also coincided with the capture of quantities of drugs during the same period. Those shipments included more than 153 kilograms of Indian cannabis, more than 101 kilograms of cocaine and hundreds of thousands of drugs.

These oversight measures fall within the requirements of the Customs Journal and the legislation on anti-smuggling, parallel trade, protection of the national economy and public health. Customs interests had registered during the entire year 2024 reservation records worth a total of 547 million dinars after raising more than 15 thousand registers, compared to about 240 million dinars until Mofi in 2025.

The General Administration plans to begin integrating AI technologies in late November 2026 to develop an automated control system and target shipments across various portals.
