Students in Sfax launch general strike over death of student Rhamma Dziri

Students at universities and higher education institutions in Sfax have launched a general and complete strike in response to a decision by student unions. The strike followed the death of student Rhamma Dziri in the Sid El Mansour university district under circumstances that sparked widespread protests in the region.

A statement from the student organization called on the Ministries of Higher Education and Health to accelerate the establishment of medical points equipped with human resources and essential supplies, following the delay in the arrival of an ambulance and the absence of a well-equipped emergency unit within university dormitories.

Ayman Dhiwi, an executive committee member of the General Union of Tunisian Students, stated that the aim of the strike is to achieve the dreams of the students, not just to obtain university degrees.
