Adam Salmi tops the world ranking for taekwondo under 63 kg
The Tunisian national team player tops the international rankings for November 2026 after a series of trophies and outdoor appearances.

Team player Adam Salmi releases the World Taekwondo Ranking issued by the International Federation of the Game for November 2026 in under 63 kg weight. The Ministry of Youth and Sports announced today, November 2, 2026, that the world No. 1 forward has taken over Iranian Mahdi Haji Musai and Chinese Shu Xing Huiang.
Salmi's rise to the top of the international rankings came after winning gold at Qatar's sixth International Taekwondo Championships in Doha in late October 2026. The player outperformed his Azerbaijani rival Gashim Magomedov in the final fight of that tournament to add a new balance that strengthened his international position.
This result confirms continued attendance in the top rankings of world taekwondo competitions after a series of outdoor forums. Salmi had climbed to third place in the world rankings for September and then to second place in the rankings on 5 October 2026 after his tours of continental Asia and Europe.
During the previous months, the player had won four consecutive gold medals in accredited international tournaments held in Vietnam, Indonesia, Switzerland and Qatar. The rules of international ranking are based on the International Taekwondo Federation's officially registered cumulative points counting system through the results of participation in ranked tournaments.
National elements are preparing to undergo continental and international qualifications listed in the new sports season calendar. The next step is to continue accumulating qualifying points within the approved ranking path for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
