A joint hearing was held by the Finance and Budget Committees of the Chamber of Deputies and the National Council of Regions and Governorates for Minister of Economy and Planning Smer Abdel Haif to discuss the economic balance and the state budget for 2027.

The preparatory sessions saw parliamentary criticism of the government over the delay in issuing the implementing orders for previous financial laws, which led to disruptions in the supply of essential services during the summer last year.

During the hearing, the minister presented the general indicators of expected growth and financial cooperation frameworks to pave the way for listening to the Minister of Finance.

These discussions come amid rising financial challenges and increasing pressure on the overall budget balances.

Maher Ktari, the head of the Finance and Budget Committee, emphasized the need to delve into the economic and developmental assumptions for the 2027 economic balance.
