The U.N. Military Helicopter Unit imitates the Order of Honor in Bangui

The United Nations imitated members of the Tunisian Military Rapid Intervention Helicopter Unit with the International Order of Merit, during an official ceremony held in the capital Bangui. This honour came in recognition of the unit's efforts and discipline in carrying out airlift and field rescue missions.
The ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General to the Mission, Mohammad Agh Iwaya, in the presence of the UN Mission's military and civilian commanders and officials. The honour included units deployed in the field within peacekeeping air forces.
The Tunisian military unit carries out multiple tasks including rapid intervention, search and rescue operations, as well as air surveillance tasks. Ground troops are also deployed through field patrol and convoy escort to enhance security and stability in various areas affected by the spread.
This air unit has been operating as part of the United Nations Integrated Multidimensional Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic Minsk since 2021. This participation falls within the framework of the UN Security Council resolutions on the mandate of the mission and agreements concluded between the State and the United Nations.
The Tunisian unit continues to perform its subsequent operational commitments in accordance with the periodic deployment schedule and rotation programmes adopted by the UN Mission Command and the Ministry of National Defence.
