The Interior Ministry is inviting users of the southern entrance to the capital to alternate routes
The Ministry of Interior has called on drivers coming to the capital to adopt alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion caused by work removing the Lakanya bridge at the end of school holidays.

The Ministry of Interior today called on users of the southern entrance to Tunis, the capital, to take precautions and adopt alternative routes, to avoid the traffic congestion resulting from the work of removing the old Lacania bridge in conjunction with the end of the first semester.
The ministry has proposed two main routes to facilitate the transport of drivers coming from within the republic, including first the National Road 1 cable car via the Radès Stadium intersection and then the Medina Jedida intersection in the direction of the Radès - La Goulette bridge, or through the adjacent intersection of the Housing Bank. While the second path passes through the intersection of El Ouardia 1 and 2 towards the Piazza di Bab Aliawa, then the Rivolon Bridge and Half-Bay up to the Moroccan Arab Street known as Road Zad 4.
The security authorities reported that they exploited human capabilities to facilitate crossing on the axis leading to the capital, and set up emergency numbers and guidance for citizens to ensure traffic orderly based on the Road Journal, Traffic Safety Regulations and the powers of the police and traffic guards to modify exceptional traffic lanes.
These field actions are part of a project overseen by the Ministry of Works and Housing to expand the southern entrance to the capital and double its corridors from two to four corridors in each direction. This was preceded by the opening of a new bridge linking Route 22 and Local Route 459 on 20 October to transport pedestrian traffic before dismantling the old facility began.
The next stage is the completion of the demolition of the Lacania Bridge and the linking of the new tracks, in order to complete the second tranche of the project and accommodate the traffic of about 170,000 vehicles passing through this entrance daily.
