Council of Governorates and Regions Refers Finance Bill to Its Committee

The National Council of Governorates and Regions referred the 2027 finance and budget bills to the finance and budget committee. The committee will start studying the bills and formally committing to their provisions on Monday, October 19.

The new budget is based on revenue estimates of 54.2 billion dinars against expenditures of 68.8 billion dinars. The bill includes a direct borrowing of 10 billion dinars from the central bank without interest.

Economic experts have criticized the financial choices made, but the bill aims to improve the public finance situation in the country.
