Club Africain nominates Tunis and Espérance for the best of 2026

Football Federation Club Africain announced today 4 November 2026 the inclusion of the national team and Espérance Sportive de Tunis club in the official lists of candidates for the best awards on the African continent. Tunisian football representatives are present in the senior club and men's national teams.

Espérance Sportive de Tunis came as the country's only representative in a list of 10 clubs competing for the title of best club within the African continent. The Tunisian team competes for the award of Zamalk clubs, Mamelodi Sun Downs, the Royal Army, Volcano Hostage, Olympique Asfi, Union de la capitale, Youth of Blozdad, Manjima Union and Hélène.

The national team entered the competition for the 2026 Men's Team of the Year award as part of a final list of 10 African selectors. The list of candidates alongside Tunisia includes Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, South Africa, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Cape Verde.

These nominations are based on the Club Africain Football Federation's approved regulatory framework, which sets selection criteria for competitors according to a technical and administrative voting mechanism subject to continental awards regulations. The results are presented on the basis of the evaluation of teams' participation and performance in continental and international competitions during the period specified in the annual assessment schedule.

The Club Africain Federation is expected to officially announce the names of the crowned athletes during the annual best-of-three awards ceremony scheduled to be held in Lagos, Nigeria on December 7, 2026.
