The government has submitted the 2027 budget bill to the Chamber of Deputies. The bill includes an exceptional borrowing from the central bank amounting to nine point eight billion dinars.
This financial assistance aims to cover the budget deficit without allocating any interest to the treasury.
The bill includes a series of tax measures, including revising consumption duties on alcoholic beverages and adjusting duties on smartphones.
In return, the bill provides for the exemption of energy storage batteries from customs duties and value-added tax.
