Civil protection rescues a young man who fell in a well at Sidi Bouzid
Intervention teams dispatch a 30-year-old young man after falling into a dry well 50 meters deep at the Menzel Bouzaiane local delegation after a joint operation with the National Guard.

Meknassy's civil protection units in coordination with the National Guard rescued today 4 November 2026 a 30-year-old man after falling into a dry well at the local Menzel Bouzaiane delegation of Sidi Bouzid state. Field teams immediately entered to retrieve the young man and secure him from the bottom of the well after receiving notice of the accident.
The incident occurred in the Naked Zone of the Al-Kalal Governorate, where the well inside the young man reached a depth of about 50 meters with no water inside. Emergency teams provided first aid to the young man at the scene of the accident as soon as he was released, before transporting him to the hospital to follow up on his stable condition. The incident comes as a frequent occurrence of civilians falling inside abandoned or uncovered wells in Sidi Bouzid State, as the area saw a similar intervention during October 2026 to rescue a girl who fell into a well over 30 meters deep. The Journal of Water and Public Safety Legislation imposes legal conditions for digging and exploiting wells, requiring that abandoned openings and wells be secured to avoid putting people's lives at risk.
Competent security authorities initiate legal procedures and field inspections at the scene of an accident to stand on falling clothes and ensure that the necessary safety measures and procedures are met.
