Cassation Court Extends Negotiations in Stop Polisien Case in Gabès

The Gabès Court of First Instance has extended negotiations in the case against environmental activists involved in the Stop Polisien campaign until next week.

Environmental activist Khairdin Dhibi and eleven others appeared to appeal a default judgment that sentences them to prison for their protest activities.

The case dates back to a complaint filed by the Gabès Chemical Group against activists demanding the right to a clean environment.

Human rights and environmental organizations continue to provide on-the-ground support to the activists, calling for the dismissal of all charges against them.
