Clashes in Gabes and Mornaguia after two deaths

Clashes broke out in the governorates of Gabes and Mornaguia in Sfax after two deaths were reported in the region. The tension escalated in Mornaguia following the death of a young man who set himself on fire in front of the municipality building in protest against his difficult social conditions.

In Gabes, the city renewed its protests and set tires on fire in the wake of the death of young man, Oun Chalhi, during a police chase. The locals demanded an investigation into the circumstances of the two deaths and accountability for the responsible parties amid a heavy deployment of security forces.
