Engineer Hamdi Hassad Reveals Extent of Forest Fires in Tunisia Since 2011

Engineer Hamdi Hassad revealed that the total area of forests affected by fires in Tunisia since 2011 reached 164,000 hectares.

He noted that this area is equivalent to 1.6 times the size of the governorate of Monastir.

These losses pose significant environmental challenges, requiring urgent national strategies to protect forest wealth and promote reforestation.

Hassad called for strengthening preventive mechanisms and protecting the vegetation cover.
