Tunisian Consulates Refer Passport Applications to Interior Ministry for Scrutiny

Consulates abroad have referred files for passport renewal and issuance to the Interior Ministry for thorough scrutiny. The process includes security checks on the activities of applicants both within and outside the country, even in the absence of any criminal records.

These investigations take months, delaying the issuance of passports to applicants. This administrative restriction comes amid growing complaints from the expatriate community about the imposed restrictions on their movement and right to travel.
