National Institute for Large Crops Reveals Severe Shortage in Certified Seeds

The National Institute for Large Crops has revealed that only 25% of farmers' needs for certified seeds are met in Tunisia.

Fadi Gaddafi, coordinator of the governorates of Tunis and Bizerte, explained that 75% of the areas rely on unmonitored self-sown seeds.

It is noted that the production of certified seeds is limited to four licensed companies subject to official monitoring, without fully meeting the demand.

The institute calls on farmers to apply agricultural trading and cultivate legumes to maintain soil fertility and improve production.
