The Finance Ministry says this decision reflects the state's social role and protection of household consumption.

Minister of Finance Moustafa Khaledi confirmed that no adjustment to fuel prices in the domestic market was approved despite the high cost of support. The minister explained that this decision reflects the social orientation of the state and its determination to preserve the purchasing power of citizens.

During a hearing in parliament, the minister explained that the decision is aimed at protecting purchasing power and reducing the damage caused by energy price fluctuations. This came during the presentation of the initial orientations of the draft state budget for 2027 before the Joint Committee on Finance and Budget.
