The Ministry of Communications is moving towards accelerating the use of artificial intelligence
Safiyan al-Hamisi announces his ministry's 2027 budget's orientation towards the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence while the president of the Republic had previously warned of its risk to human thought.

Minister of Communication Technologies Safiyan Al-Hamisi confirmed today on 6 November 2026 before parliament that the budget of his ministry for 2027 is aimed at accelerating the path of digital transformation and expanding the use of artificial intelligence technologies in various fields.
The appropriations allocated to the Ministry of Communication Technologies' budget for 2027 amount to about 215 million dinars for the implementation of programs and programmed projects. These trends are based on the 2026-2030 development plan which places digitalization and artificial intelligence among the most prominent foundational pillars adopted for updating administrative work and service development.
In that speech, the President of the Republic considered artificial intelligence to be in essence a real assassination of human thought, stressing that it constitutes an imminent threat to all mankind.
The government continues to include digital software and smart systems in the development goals and update management structures at the next stage.
