The Minister of Economy announces an increase in the accreditation of the Global Development Programme

Minister of Economy and Planning Samir Abdul Hafez announced on Thursday in parliament the allocation of pledge appropriations for the airline development program worth 543,550 million dinars as part of the state budget project for 2027. The announcement was made during a joint session between the Strategic Planning and Sustainable Development Committee of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People and the Development Plans Committee of the National Council of Governments and Regions to present the draft state budget.

The Minister explained that the program-directed credits recorded an increase of 71,050 million dinars to allow for the inclusion of more new projects. Investment expenditures for 2027 were set at 301,563 million promising dinars and 101,563 millions paid dinars, compared to about 2,580 million promising Dinars and 1,580 million paid dinars for 2026.

Bin Abdul Hafeez said that this development in investment expenses is mainly due to the redeployment of a part of the intervention credits and its allocation to the investment of 300 million dinars pledged and 100 million dinars paid for the financing of the mobile program. This coincides with the reduction of payment credits allocated to the element of improving living conditions to 220,550 million dinars against 300 million dinars registered in 2026 according to the consumption coordinate.

The government's offer touched on the reduction of loans to grant citizens' currency from 150 million dinars in 2026 to 100 million dinars for 2027 in line with their settlement and integration into public service. The state's contribution to international financial institutions also decreased to 56,225 million dinars against 68,820 million dinars registered by the Finance Act of 2026, a decrease of 18.3%.

The easing of regional development allocations is part of the process of reviewing the regulatory framework for regional councils to restructure development spending priorities. The decrease in the contributions of international financial institutions is due to a reduction in the number of premiums payable and a decline in the value of the Club Africain Development Bank's interest-bearing premiums according to the financial commitments schedule.
