Swimming competitions at the 2026 Dakar Youth Olympic Games, on Friday 6 November, excluded swimmer Rami Rahmoni from the 200-meter freestyle qualifiers in the Senegalese capital Dakar.

Tunisian swimmer Rami Rahmoni is competing in this Olympic tournament under the banner of the Saudi national team, following his decision to move which sparked previous warnings of loss of national competencies and talents in the sport of swimming.

Swimmer Rami Rahmoni was crowned on Tuesday 3 November 2026 with the gold medal for 400 metres freestyle swimming at the 2026 Dakar Youth Olympic Games, where he recorded a time of 3 minutes, 47 seconds and 80 percent representing Saudi Arabia after his transfer from the national team.

This exclusion coincided with his participation in the current course 3 days after he was crowned gold medalist in 400m freestyle swimming, thus achieving the first Olympic gold medal in the history of Saudi swimming competitions.
