National security at Ariana's is breaking up a criminal gang for violently stealing cell phones

National security units in the National Security Area's Ariana Ville Park, on Saturday, November 7, 2026, shot down a criminal gang consisting of several elements specialized in stealing mobile phones using violence and leaks. The operation came after a series of repeated robberies were recorded in separate areas.

Field operations and security investigations have been concentrated following the observation of repeated attacks targeting civilians in the resort areas, lighthouses, Nasr neighbourhood, Bab Sadon and Bardo. Network agents were deliberately monitoring victims on the streets and forcing them to forcefully disconnect their mobile devices, prompting security teams to intensify their pursuit of the perpetrators and determine their movements.

Investigations led to the identification of the suspects and their whereabouts, for security units to raid their residences in coordination with the prosecutor's office, where all members of the group were seized. The searches resulted in the seizure of a large number of stolen smartphones whose serial numbers were tampered with to disguise their source.

Research conducted with detainees has shown that there is an organized scheme to dispose of stolen items, where gang members take over the sale of confiscated phones to two others. These two racists take on the task of unlocking secure locks and account passwords, as well as downloading apps to disable geo-location and prevent device tracking.

The Public Prosecutor's Office at the Ariana Primary Court, after reviewing and hearing the results of preliminary investigations, authorized the retention of all members of the criminal consensus and continued investigation to identify any potential partners or participants associated with the activities of this network.
