The water company records a disruption in Kasserine's supply due to electrical maintenance
Disruption and disruption of the distribution of drinking water in Kasserine city after power was cut off from supply wells to carry out maintenance work.

The city of Kasserine today, Saturday 7 November 2026, registered a disruption and interruption in the distribution of safe drinking water starting at 10 a.m. The National Water Utilization and Distribution Company announced that this shutdown covers the entire city as a result of connecting the pumping network to emergency work on the power lines.
The reasons for the water outage are due to maintenance work on the power grid being carried out by Tunisian electricity and gas company interests. Technical interventions required power cuts to a number of wells supplied to Kasserine City starting at 8:00 a.m. that same day, directly halting pumping operations to local distribution networks.
The National Water Utilization and Distribution Company reported that the electricity interests continue to complete their technical interventions around the clock with the aim of completing maintenance operations on the grid. The provision of clean drinking water to the population is expected to be resumed gradually starting at 5:00 p.m. after complete maintenance of power plants and restarting of pumping stations in the wells concerned.
Kasserine's water system relies on the operation of deep wells with electrical pump engines that are directly affected by any power outages or maintenance of transformers and gas distribution stations. The redistribution process after the work is completed requires filling the main networks and reservoirs before the natural pressure water reaches subscribers throughout the city.
