Ministry of Health launches remote neurology clinics in Gafsa
Neurology, cardiology and kidney services have been launched at Hossein Boziyan Hospital and Skhira Hospital in coordination with Sfax Digital Hospital.

The Ministry of Health has announced the launch of the first remote neurosurgery clinics at Al Hussein Bouzian University Hospital in Gafsa, beginning this week in November 2026. This service is part of a program that includes specialized clinics in direct coordination with Sfax Digital Hospital.
New medical services include Gafsa's neurology clinics in collaboration with the Department of Neurology at Habib Bourguiba University Hospital in Sfax. The initiative involves securing clinics in the cardiology and kidney specialist at Skhira Local Hospital, in conjunction with the competent departments of Sfax University Hospitals.
The ministry explained that these services are provided according to a specific weekly schedule in partnership with the central team of Gafsa's digital hospital and airline health department. Health interests stressed that the purpose of these tests is to facilitate patients' access to accurate medical services and ensure their ongoing follow-up in cooperation with local medical teams. These arrangements are part of an effort to address the difficulties of inland population access to specialized medicine and to alleviate the increasing pressure on major hospital institutions. Digital interventions are aimed at reducing long waiting times and keeping patients away from the costs and burdens of moving to university hospitals in neighboring cities.
The Ministry of Health is expanding this experience to connect new healthcare institutions within the neighbouring states with the digital system, as well as planning to add other medical specialties in the coming periods to improve health care for entities.
