Bizerte Municipal Police are seizing five tons of rotten potatoes

On Friday 6 November 2026, the Bizerte Municipal Police Brigade, in coordination with the National Authority for Food Safety, booked quantities of corrupt potatoes that were on sale within the local market in Bizerte.
Initial investigations and investigations conducted by the supervisory teams with the merchant led to the identification of the source of the supply, as it turned out that he had acquired those quantities from one of the wholesalers active in the area.
Field inspection at the merchant's warehouse resulted in an additional 5 tons of potato material being seized that showed signs of corruption and invalidity for promotion.
The teams involved decided to subject the entire reserved quantities of 5 tonnes to laboratory analyses necessary for scientific verification of their seriousness and compliance with health specifications, before completing the rest of the legal procedures and damages reserved in accordance with the applicable order and determining the responsibilities arising from the promotion of corrupt consumer products.
