The Ministry of Interior allocated 35 million dinars to buy National Guard helicopters
The Minister of the Interior announces to Parliament a proposal to monitor financial credits for purchasing helicopters and border equipment within the budget of 2027.

Interior Minister Khalid al-Nuri announced on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, a proposal to allocate 35 million dinar payment credits for the purchase of new helicopters for the benefit of the National Guard wire in the Tunisian capital. The announcement was made during a joint parliamentary session held at the headquarters of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People and included the Committee on Defence, Security, Armed Forces and the Committee on Internal Order of the National Council of Governments and Regions.
The programmed credits to support field operations are distributed on the armament and logistics project package including 17.1 million dinars for border equipment, 53.7 million dinars of private equipment, plus 19 million dinars to acquire light and fast transportation for the benefit of field units.
The Minister clarified that these allocations are intended to enhance the operational capabilities of the National Guard wire and strengthen efforts to combat smuggling and counter terrorist networks. These collections relate to a security strategy aimed at protecting land and sea borders, preventing irregular infiltration attempts and securing ports.
These funds are part of the discussion of the Ministry of Interior's important budget draft included in the Finance Bill for 2027, after the ministry's overall budget rose to DN6,560 million, an increase of 5.3% over the previous year which saw plans to strengthen the transport fleet and expand regulatory systems.
Legislative measures are aimed at completing the joint hearings at Parliament's headquarters to present the details of budget items, before they can be voted on and approved definitively before the actual procurement and contracting procedures with manufacturers begin as soon as the 2027 financial year enters into force.
