The National Institute of Statistics announced that the inflation rate at the household consumption level in Tunisia rose to 5.6% in September, compared to 5.4% in August. The rise was driven by increases in food prices and education costs.
Food prices, particularly those of the food and beverages group, increased by 8.4% year-on-year, fueled by a sharp rise in poultry prices by 16.5%, cereals by 16.3%, and meat from sheep and cattle by more than 13%. Education service costs also rose by 3.9% with the start of the school year.
