The Tunisia and Its Citizens Coalition has announced its intention to organize regional and national mobilizations in the coming weeks to defend rights, freedoms, and social and economic demands. The coalition, led by the General Union of Tunisian Workers, the National Bar Association, and the Tunisian Human Rights League, along with other civil, social, and national forces, called for expanding coordination among national forces and forming regional coordination committees to enhance joint on-the-ground work.
The coalition also called for an end to the policy of decision-making monopoly and exclusion of civil and social forces, and for ensuring the independence of the judiciary and respecting rights and freedoms. It reaffirmed its solidarity with student, worker, and environmental movements, considering the country is experiencing a political, economic, social, and human rights crisis, marked by a decline in purchasing power and deteriorating public services.
